How time goes by, it is already July and changes are taking place quite rapidly at home. Our older daughter Cara is applying for college in Germany and she will be leaving the 'nest' in fall. She is leaving for a 3-week trip to China with her class on Sunday - she took Mandarin language as a subject in high school and though she is officially finished with high school, this is still a field trip. What fun!!

I am glad to be back in the studio and yes, the next event 'Art in Action 2008' is in less than 2 weeks' time. It's back to frantically lampworking 24/7 again and however, with longer daylight hours, it is such a delight to work longer hours and not feel tired at the end of each session.

Another craze I've gotten into is the combination of purple and orange which reminds me of my dear friend, Vicky - who is a high school teacher in the States. Purple and orange are her favorite colors; these colors definitely 'scream Vicky'!

The following beads are a mixture of my 'Anna Karenina' and 'Window' style beads. The 1st set in clear base is actually not etched, though they may look like they are - I have definitely 'issues' in capturing clear glass in my picture-taking.

'A Clear Issue'
Round beads, each about 1.5 x 1.6cm
Clear glass base with white stringer work
and multi-colored dots

'Honey Snowballs in Summer'
Round beads, each about 1.5x1.6cm
Dark Yellow with light sky blue stringer work
and multi-colored dots

'All About Vicky'
Round beads, each about 1.5 x 1.6cm
Translucent orange and ink blue with stringer work in pink
and multi-colored dots
